FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech ACHA Division 3 men's ice hockey team fell to Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC) West Division rival Grand Valley State, 3-2, in their home finale on Friday evening at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
After falling behind 1-0 just five minutes into the first,
Chad Cobb would tie the game up at one with an unassisted goal at 11:40 in the first. The Lakers though, would add their second goal with just 41 seconds left in the second and make it a 3-1 game with 13:07 left in the third.
Cameron Pfeiffer would cut the deficit to one with 5:17 remaining in the game, but it would not be enough as Grand Valley State held on for the key division win.
Jerret Haas and
Josh Brown would be credited with assists on Pfeiffer's goal while
Chris Boyd made 41 saves in the loss.
Tech hits the road on Saturday as they conclude their weekend set with GVSU in Hudsonville, Michigan. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. from the Georgetown Ice Center.
