Box Score DEARBORN, Mich. – The No 25-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team fell to No. 8-ranked University of Michigan-Dearborn, 4-1, on Saturday night at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse in their final Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL) contest of the season.
"We had our chances, we just need to capitalize on them moving forward," head coach
Frank DiCristofaro said. "I think the two goals that were called back on us were good opportunities to get some momentum, but sometimes those calls don't go your way. We have to keep battling."
The Wolverines would extract revenge on the Warriors just one day after Tech would snap their 10-game winning streak, scoring the first two goals of the game at 14:30 in the first and 5:39 in the second.
The Orange and Black would cut the deficit to one with a power play goal from
Nick Papandrea at 13:50 in the second, but UM-Dearborn would respond with a power play goal of their own just 2:27 later before adding another goal at 12:53 in the third.
Chet Tooker would make 37 saves in the loss while
Brian Skillicorn and
Quentin Holmes would get the assists on Papandrea's goal.
Tech (14-15-1, 8-8-0 GLCHL) continues their seven game road trip next weekend as they travel to No. 5-ranked Robert Morris (Ill.) for a non-league series. Puck drop is set for 8:30 p.m. EST from the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, Illinois.
