Box Score KENT, Ohio – The No. 23-ranked and fourth-seeded Indiana Tech men's ice hockey fell to No. 10-ranked and third-seeded University of Michigan-Dearborn, 7-1, in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL) Tournament at the Kent State Ice Arena on Saturday afternoon.
"I'm very appreciative of our seniors who took a leap of faith when we first started out program," head coach
Frank DiCristofaro said. "They were able to build the ground work for what will be a successful program for years to come"
The Wolverines would strike first with a goal at 17:23 in the second period, but the Warriors would strike back quickly just 62 seconds later as
Joe Molfetta tied the game up at one. UM-Dearborn though, would answer with five more goals in the second to take a 6-1 lead into the final period and chase starting goalie
Chet Tooker, and cruised a berth in the championship game.
Tooker finished with 22 saves while
John Slavik recorded seven saves in relief.
Adam Jonak and
Brian Skillicorn were credited with assists on Molfetta's goal.
Tech finishes its third season with a mark of 17-20-1 (W-L-SO).
