The Indiana Tech ACHA hockey team notched two wins against the Western Michigan Stallioins this past weekend in Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC) - West Division play.
On Friday night, the Warriors took care of business on home ice. The Warriors would go down early in the first period, but
Jordan Reese would score to even the game at 1-1. Tech would then take the lead on a shorthanded goal from
Bear Ross.
Tyler Lantzsch would score a power play goal and Tech would go into the first intermission leading 3-1.
Anthony Passarelli would add to the Warriors lead early in the second period. The Broncos and Warriors would go back in forth the rest of the second period on the scoreboard.
Bear Ross would score his second of the night and
Connor Barney would also score. Tech would lead 6-3 going into the third period. Passarelli would make it 7-3 just a minute into the third period. Lucas Hilty would notch the 8
th goal for the Warriors. The Broncos would add one more, but
Jordan Reese would add his second of the game as the Warriors would win 9-4.
Jarod Potasnik would have 27 saves on the night. Conner Barney would have six points for the Warriors.
Saturday night would be all Warriors. The game would be scoreless after the first period, but the Warriors would score three goals in the second.
Mason Oetting,
Blake Anderson and
Tyler Lantzsch would be the goal scorers for the Warriors in the second period. In the third period, the Warriors would add four more goals.
Conner Sharrett,
Connor Barney, RobertÂ
Frieson and
Bear Ross would be the goal scorers in the final period of the weekend as the Warriors would win 7-0.
Chris Boyd would return to form and record his first collegiate shutout with 31 saves.
Jordan Reese would have five assists on the night, while
Tyler Lantzsch would add a goal and two assists to lead the Warriors offensive attack.
The Warriors will travel to Calvin College this upcoming weekend for a two-game set on the road.
