GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference released the men's hockey preseason poll this afternoon, with Tech picked first.
 
The team got the top spot with six of the seven first-place votes putting them at a point total of 43. The men won the conference last season with a 15-5 record in the conference. Tech will host the WHAC tournament based on their conference title last season.
 
The WHAC Preseason Poll is voted on by the league's head coaches. Points are tabulated by assigning 7 points to the team a coach ranks first, 6 points to a team a coach ranks second, and so on. The number of first-place votes indicates the number of coaches who ranked that team as the No. 1 team in the WHAC.
