FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's hockey team has released its schedule for the 2023-24 season.
Head Coach Scott Hicks enters his third year at the helm of Warrior women's hockey heading into the 2023-24 season, as the program is set to enter its third year of competition. Last season, he helped lead the program to a 27-7 overall record, registering four more wins than the 23 they had in their 2021-22 inaugural season. Tech would go 18-2 in conference play on their way to a second-place finish in the CCWHA. The 18 conference wins was also a new program record, beating the previous mark of 14. The Warriors would finish the regular season at No. 5 in the national ranking, reaching as high as No. 3 during the season. In the postseason, the Warriors would fall in the conference tournament championship game. At the ACHA National Championships the Warriors would earn the No. 5 overall seed, winning one game before falling in the quarterfinals to No. 4 seed Adrian College. Four Warriors would earn All-CCWHA regular season honors in 2022-23, while one would be named to the CCWHA All-Rookie team, and four to the CCWHA All-Tournament Team.
Tech will start the 2023-24 season with a two-game home series against conference opponent, Lake Superior State University (Mich.) on September 29
th and 30
th. The Warriors will first hit the road on October 6
th as the they travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to take on the Davenport University Panthers before returning home October 7
th to host the Panthers. The Orange & Black will wrap up the 2023 part of the schedule with a two-game home and away series with CCWHA rivals Adrian College (Mich.) on December 7
th and 8
th. The Warriors will host Niagara University (N.Y.) upon returning from Christmas Break to start the 2024 year on January 5
th and 6
th. Tech will close out the regular season with two games against Miami University (Ohio) on February 16
th and 17
th. The CCWHA Tournament is set for February 23
rd-24
th and the ACHA National Championship will begin on March 13
th.
