Box Score 2 FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The No. 14-ranked Indiana Tech Women's hockey team played a two game series with Michigan State Univeristy on Friday and Saturday, in which both teams would walk away from with a win and a loss.
On Saturday night, the Warriors hit the ice at home against Michigan State, determined to bounce back and earn some redemption after Friday's defeat.
Indiana Tech fell just short in the first match up of the week against Michigan State on Friday, November 7, dropping a 2–0 game in East Lansing. Despite the loss, the Warriors highlighted strong offensive efforts, outshooting the Spartans 37–26 over three periods and creating multiple scoring opportunities. The Warriors were just unable to get past the Michigan State goalie in an outstanding game from the netminder, while the Spartans would score once in the second period and once in the third. Rose Lennon would make 24 saves in goal for the Warriors.
The Indiana Tech women's hockey team bounced back in a commanding fashion Saturday night at home, taking down the Spartans 5–1 to split the series. The Warriors wasted no time setting the tone, with Allison Greene opening the scoring at 9:24 of the first period. Just seven minutes later, Halle Murray extended the lead to 2–0, capitalizing on a setup from Avery Johnson and Hailey Terpstra on the power play. Indiana Tech continued to pour pressure on the second frame. Sylvie Legault struck twice—once unassisted and once on a feed from Jaiden Rogers and Payton Gilmour—pushing the lead to 4–0. The Warriors special teams remained sharp as Georgia Kusbel added a fourth power-play goal of the night at 15:45, assisted by Daphnee Gagnon and Carys Wytinck. Michigan State spoiled the shutout at 16:01 with a goal, but it was too little, too late as Tech closed out the game strong. The Warriors finished 4-for-6 on the power play while holding the Spartans scoreless on three opportunities, displaying an impressive all-around performance in their home victory. Rose Lennon would get the win in goal for the Warriors, finishing with 26 saves.
