Lilliana Rivera, and
Carlye Walter were named Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Players of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Bronwyn Nel continued her impressive freshman year by being named WHAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week. Last Friday, Nel finished 21st out of 55 runners (4th among NAIA athletes) in the women's 10k race at the WashU Distance Carnival with a time of 36:34.86, hitting a NAIA B standard, currently ranking #6 in the NAIA, and moving into second all-time on the Indiana Tech 10k list.
Lilliana Rivera was named WHAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after stuffing the stat sheet in two games last week. The freshman finished with 15 draw controls, 7 ground balls, and 5 caused turnovers, while also scoring 3 goals and adding one assist helping the Warriors take down Madonna and Aquinas by a combined 37-7.
Carlye Walter was named WHAC Softball Player of the Week after a dominant week on the diamond. She would reach base 16 times in 20 plate appearances, recording 10 hits, 6 walks, and 19 total bases, while hitting splits of .714 avg, .800 obp, and 1.357 slg. The junior had 7 extra base hits with 1 home run and 6 doubles, recording 5 RBIs and scoring 8 runs. She would also pitch in 1 game last week, throwing 6.0 innings with 4 strikeouts, allowing just 4 hits and 1 run, and earning a save against Cornerstone.
Conference player of the week awards are released every Monday throughout the school year.
