FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Indiana Tech women's ice hockey head coach Mike O'Grady has announced his coaching staff in his first season at the helm of the program.
 
John Salway will be returning for his third season with the women's ice hockey program. Salway is an accomplished coach in the hockey world, having worked at numerous levels, including here in Fort Wayne with the Komets. In addition to his responsibilities with Tech, he is currently the Player Development Director for Indiana Elite Youth Hockey and works for the Indy Fuel in the ECHL.
 
Brooke Almond will be joining the coaching staff for the 2026-27 season. Almond joins the program after a five-year collegiate hockey career at Chatham University, where she holds the career record for assists and is the third leading points scorer. Almond graduated from Chatham in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in communications. Prior to Chatham, Almond grew up playing hockey in the Midwest for the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite and Ohio AAA Blue Jackets organization.
 
"I am extremely excited to have John and Brooke as a part of our staff," Coach O'Grady said. "Throughout the process it was clear that John was a great asset to our program and players. Brooke will be a great resource for our players to learn from and is a big addition to our staff. I am looking forward to working with both John and Brooke this season as we continue to build Tech Women's Ice Hockey!"
 
Indiana Tech's season kicks off on September 25^th at home against Purdue Northwest.
